Branka Lugonja works in the so-called furnace or cold glass technique and uses float glass. The processes of melting, submerging, sinking, and pouring are different methods she applies in the treatment of glass plates. Branka transforms the glass with her artistic imprint using special glass enamels, various metals, and oxides. When these elements melt together at extreme temperatures, typically between 700 and 1000 degrees Celsius, often between two layers of glass, complex chemical and physical processes occur. The result can be both fascinating and unpredictable. Colors can transform, fade or even disappear, and unexpected patterns and effects can appear in the glass. Over the years and through accumulated experience Branka has become better at mastering these challenges which allows her to focus more on the artistic expression.

When the oven finally opens up it's a moment filled with anticipation and suspense - here is when the artist decides whether a bowl, sculpture light fixture spray paint plate or wall installation has achieved its desired form beauty."

If the burning succeeds, the artist can decide that the work is finished. If not, the process can continue with techniques such as sandblasting, carving or even completely new approaches.

Lighting of glass art can vary, either by backlighting or from the side. The dynamic light adds a new dimension to each piece of glass art, so viewers can enjoy its constant transformation. Brankas artworks find their place in private homes, commercial buildings and public spaces in Denmark as well as in many other countries around the world.

Anyone who chooses this decoration form embraces an art form that shines with life and depth.
